FAQ  - Next Steps

Consecrate ORLANDO...a prayer initiative calling God’s people to consecrate ourselves, our city and its people to the Lord and to worship Him over Greater Orlando and our Central Florida region.

If the Lord is calling you to participate by upholding one of the days:

* Select an  day and determine a time for your gathering.

* When planning your gathering, ask God to direct you as you search both His heart and His Word for the Scriptures He wants you to focus on during your time of consecration.

* During the worship segments, praise God with songs that place the focus on Him and His attributes (Who He is, His amazing love, et al). This will facilitate the participants entering into His Presence and
encourage them to respond to the call to consecrate their lives to Him!

* Set aside a specific time in the service during which the call for consecration goes forth to those who are present, and on behalf of their families, friends, and others in Greater Orlando and Central Florida.

* Move from the time of consecration back into worship, calling on those gathered to begin worshiping God over their lives, their families, their congregations, neighborhoods, workplaces, the city, over all of Central Florida...and beyond!

* Members of Consecrate ORLANDO’s servant team will come alongside your team, providing support in planning, and to help on site with the prayer and worship segments of your gathering.

* Consecrate ORLANDO is a corporate call to the entire Body of Christ in Central Florida. We will be  “cross-pollinating” ...and strongly encourage you to attend at least one other worship gathering, in addition to the one you will be facilitating.  It is through sharing these types of experiences that we are enabled to live out the Word of God in Ephesians 4.

* There will be many different congregations and diverse ministries from across the Body of Christ participating in Consecrate ORLANDO.  While appreciating both our uniqueness and diversity in the many expressions of our Christian faith, at times, some of us might feel a bit stretched in our comfort zones. Should that occur, remember Ephesians 4… “let us make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

* One of the ways Consecrate ORLANDO is being promoted is through this website and through our Facebook group. We encourage you to utilize all of your regular communications networks, such as church website, e-mail lists, and printed bulletins to get the word out, inviting participation by those in your city, county and region.

* These members of the Consecrate ORLANDO servant team are available to you at any time, to pray with you, answer questions and provide guidance.  Please call any of them.

Q:   What is at the heart of Consecrate ORLANDO?
A:   The Holy Spirit is the Author and Finisher of Consecrate ORLANDO. Under His leadership, a  Servant Team of believers with hearts for prayer and a desire to see God exalted in our
region will together.facilitate this 2010 corporate prayer initiative.

Q:   How can I get involved?
A:   Attend one of the special worship and prayer times listed on the Calendar page of this website.  Consecrate ORLANDO is committed to cultivating, fostering and nurturing strong cross-denominational relationships in the Body of Christ in our region. This "cross pollinating"  will truly reflect the message of Ephesians 4!

Q:   What does a Consecrate ORLANDO event look like?
A:   At each Consecrate Orlando gathering, a call will go forth for the consecration of ourselves and our city to the Lord, along with a release of corporate worship of God over the Central Florida area. Services will include times of worship, prayer and repentance, and be of different lengths of time, size, components and persuasions...depending on the venue...throughout Central Florida.

Q:   How is Consecrate ORLANDO connecting with  other prayer initiatives in May, such as Stand4LIFE, the National Day of Prayer (NDP), the Mayors Prayer Breakfast and the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP)?
A:   Consecrate Orlando will partner with all four listed above. At present, CO, the NDP and the MPB are jointly hosting a city wide event for the 2010 National Day of Prayer on May 6th.  This begins at 7 PM at the First Baptist Church of Orlando on LB McLeod Road, off  I-4 at 33rd Street. This is open to all.   On May 23rd, Pentecost Sunday / the 2010 Global Day of Prayer, there will be a corporate gathering at a central location TBA.  (Tentatively scheduled for 2010 at the Holy Land Experience, located on the West side of  I-4 at Conroy).

Q:   Can we partner with another congregation to host one of the days in prayer together?
A:   Yes! Exalt the name of Jesus together!  As long as the focus of consecration is upheld and God is worshiped over Orlando and Central Florida, the possibilities for cooperation in this are endless.

Q:   Is there someone I should tell about our plans?  Is there a Consecrate ORLANDO communications network?
A:   Members of the Servant Team for Consecrate ORLANDO are facilitating communications.    If that is where your gifting lies, come join us!  We are also connecting through Facebook. Our  “group.” is Consecrate ORLANDO

Q:   What resources are available to help us in our planning?
A:   If you’re sensing that God is calling you to participate in Consecrate ORLANDO, please contact one of the Servant Team listed on this page.  You are also encouraged to visit the websites for the National Day of Prayer (http://www.ndptf.org) and the Global Day of Prayer (http://www.globaldayofprayer.com).  Both have a variety of useful material which can be adapted for your use.

Q:   You mentioned a follow-up time of prayer for and service to the community. What will that look like?
A:   At the conclusion of this year's CO initiative, members of the 21st century Church are encouraged to follow the example of the early Church in the book of Acts by going into their local communities to pray for, serve and bless them.  Consecrate ORLANDO participants are encouraged to take part in this practice. See the VOLUNTEER page on this website for a  list of existing ministries known to us that need additional support throughout the summer months.
There will also be ongoing Consecrate ORLANDO gatherings throughout the year, so keep checking back with this website: www.consecrateorlando.weebly.com
